How do Castle Filters last so long?

Simply put, a Castle Filter holds a LOT of dust before it fails. Independent lab tests show us that traditional pleated filters (regardless of price) only collect 5 to 15 grams of dust before they fail. A Castle Filter can hold over 80. There’s no trick here. It’s like a car with an extra-large gas tank.

So why can’t other filters hold as much dust? Because Castle Filters are designed completely differently than traditional filters. Up until now, most HVAC filters use pleated (like an accordion) paper or fibrous material. This material simply cannot hold much dust before it restricts flow and needs to be replaced.

Castle Filters are designed around a patented tacky-foam center. This fundamental difference in design allows us to flow as well or better than the competition, while holding a serious amount of dust.

Traditional Filtering Material

Traditional filters use inefficient paper or fiber design to trap a small amount of dust before they need to be replaced.

Castle Filtering Material

Castle Filters use a patented, revolutionary tacky-foam design to trap over 80 grams of dust before failure.

Excellent flow, filtration, and longevity. You can have it all.

The perfect filter, by design.

Castle Filters are designed to be the ideal blend of flow and filtration while lasting 4-12x longer than traditional filters. Our MERV 8 filters capture around 90% of 5-micron particles (a human hair is 75 microns in diameter, and most dust is around 25 microns) while offering flow rates comparable to or better than the competition.

How does a $30 filter save me money over a $5 filter?

The problem with cheap filters is that they fail quickly. The sooner a filter nears failure, the harder your system will have to work to heat or cool your house. While the initial cost of other filters might be low, you will likely spend more money on your energy bill over the course of a year than you would have with a single Castle Filter.
