Patented Dust-Stopping Effectiveness

Castle Filters filtering media is comprised of 3 sheets of 1⁄4” filtering media for a total of 3⁄4”. Pleated filter media thickness is measured in millimeters. This gives the Castle Filter 10x more dirt stopping area to capture 10x more contaminants than a pleated filter.

Pleated filters will only hold around 15 grams of dust before they fail. An average household HVAC filter collects about 1 gram of dust per week, so pleated filters need to be replaced about every 30-90 days for optimal performance. Castle Filters static pressures are hardly affected until it has about 80g of dust and will hold up to 123 grams of dust before complete failure. Castle Filters can stop and “pack away” 10x more dust than a pleated paper filter – due to its patented filtering media of tackified, porous cellular material. The cell walls of the material are made sticky and tacky with our treatment, then when the dust hits the sticky “wall” it is adhered to it. The walls pack the dust up but the center of the cell allows air flow to continue.

Because of Castle Filter’s dust stopping effectiveness it will last for an entire year. No need to replace your HVAC filter every 30-90 days. This saves you time and money.

Total Dust Arrestance.

Filter effectiveness is measured in two ways. How it stops certain dust particle sizes (5-10 microns are the most harmful), and how it stops ALL particle sizes.

5-10 micron dust

Pleated MERV 8 73%
Pleated MERV 11 88%
Castle High-Flow 93%

All dust sizes

Pleated MERV 8 72%
Pleated MERV 11 79%
Castle High-Flow 84%

Efficient Filtering Media,

Max Air Flow.

It doesn’t matter if your filter stops 100% of contaminants if it won’t allow air to flow through. Even with CF stopping (10) x more dust than a pleated filter, it still flows the necessary amount of air to maximize HVAC efficiency. The patented technology is the reason for the great air flow. As explained above, the dust is adhered to the “cell walls” of the sticky media but the center of the cell allows air to flow (simply put). The air flow is so good that after one year of use, the static pressures are still at acceptable levels. Pleated filters collect dust and clog up the air passages very fast (30-90 days) resulting in higher static pressures. When the HVAC unit has higher static pressures, then the unit has to run harder and longer to heat or cool your house. This results in higher energy costs, costly repairs and premature HVAC replacement. If you don’t change your pleated filter before it get plugged up, you are spending more money on energy. Thiswill cause “filter change time anxiety” that you just don’t need to live with.

Pleated paper filters will cause your static pressure to rise to a level of inefficiency, resulting in higher energy costs, every few months as they clog up.

Castle Filters will keep static pressures in a much more efficient energy range throughout the life of the filter.
